A lapel pin with the divisional flash of Camp X-Ray, Canada’s secret training school during WWII.
Camp X trained ordinary people from all walks of life, ethnicity, religion, and gender to drop behind enemy lines and perform acts of sabotage, espionage, and assassinations against the Nazi war machine.
Many of the original OSS agents who would ultimately go on to form the core of the CIA trained at Camp X.
It was also a key centre for encryption, encoding, decoding, and allied communications throughout the war.
This badge commemorates the men and women who participated in this dangerous, secretive, and heroic effort.
